The position sits within the Infrastructure, Assets and Planning Department reporting to the Manager Statutory Services. The position provides business support to the Statutory Services department - a key position that enables the professional and technical staff in the Department to perform their roles.
The role is the first point of contact for people enquiring on statutory services matters, including statutory planning, building, local laws, animal management and environmental health. The position requires a high level of customer service and at the same time, a knowledge of when to call on the professional and technical staff for more detailed information.
The role also undertakes administrative tasks to support the processing of planning applications, building permits and enforcement, local laws, animal management permits and environmental health permits. This includes maintaining registers, preparing standard permits and other statutory notices and sending standard letters. Be the first point of contact and liaise with customers, developers, builders, food premises owners and applicants who require building control information.
Skills and experience
The applicant must be able to demonstrate skills such as accountability, judgement and decision making, customer service capability, advanced MS Office and computer skills, personal timekeeping and management skills and an ability to adapt. Applicants must be able to demonstrate through their CV and covering letter that they meet the capabilities that are detailed in the Position Description.
