Independent Member of Council's Audit and Risk Committee
Central Goldfields Shire Council is seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified individuals interested in becoming an Independent Member of Council's Audit and Risk Committee.
A vacancy exists on the Committee for an Independent Member, commencing May 2025 for a period of up to 3 years.
The Audit & Risk Committee is a formally appointed committee and is responsible to Council. The role of the committee is to provide Council with advice on matters relevant to the Audit & Risk Committee Charter in order for Council to discharge its responsibilities. The selected respondent will be required, as a member of the Audit & Risk Committee, to play a key role in assisting Council to fulfil its governance and financial compliance responsibilities, ethical practices and accountability requirements.
Independent Committee members must have senior business and/or financial management/reporting knowledge, skills and experience and be conversant with the financial and other reporting requirements. The Audit & Risk Committee meets 4 times a year.
A sitting fee per meeting will be payable to the successful applicant.
